is a Planner, Certified Arborist, Conservation Consultant, and a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist and Landscape Designer. Michael worked as staff horticulturist and educator for the Massachusetts Horticultural Society and Boston Urban Gardeners. He was a pioneer of organic lawn and landscape care and is also a recognized expert on Conservation Design and Restoration. Michael is a member in good standing of the American Society of Consulting Arborists, the Society of Wetland Scientists and Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions. Michael was a co-founder of the Ecological Landscaping Association, and he is a visiting lecturer at the University of Maine's Landscape Horticulture Program. Michael is the author of dozens of articles on many horticultural topics. He lectures frequently on ecological design, tree and lawn care at professional conferences, both regional and national, environmental organizations, garden clubs, lake and pond associations and other organizations throughout the eastern United States. He has appeared on many radio and television programs, including The Victory Garden and New England Chronicle, sharing his expertise on ecological landscape design and care.

Virginia's professional focus in the early part of her career was community development and advocacy programs during the twenty years she lived in Boston. She worked in the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Construction Directorate, helping to manage the design and implementation of mass transit projects, including their compliance with state and federal disability laws. She later worked with several consulting and architectural firms to implement compliance with the design standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A talented horticulturist in her own right, she joined Michael Talbot & Associates, Inc. in 1994 and was part of the team that serviced plant health care and landscape design & installation accounts. As Co-Owner and Administrator of the company today, she is in charge of marketing, customer service, office management and company outreach. She is the one to call with your inquiries and to help ensure that your landscape needs are met in a timely and individually customized manner.
